Hey bunqers 🌈,
Accidentally forgot your PIN and entered the wrong code too many times?
Don’t worry — you can reset your PIN via the app! Once you have done so, your card will be unblocked and you can use it again straight away 💪
What should I do?
Check out the steps below to choose a new PIN and reactivate your card:
Open bunq app
Go to the 💳 Cards Tab
Choose the blocked card
Tap on PIN
Choose a new one
Confirm it and done ✨
After completing the steps above, we recommend making an ATM transaction to ensure that the PIN stored on the chip of your card is updated too.
I entered the PIN correctly but still got an error, what do I do?
Before using, the PIN needs to have synced to the Card Chip (using in store where you need to enter a PIN and/or ATM withdrawal), otherwise you can get 'Invalid PIN' errors even if the PIN entered is correct.
This is usually because the terminal is offline and the PIN you've chosen when activating your card isn't on the card chip yet, until an online transaction is completed and we can push the PIN to the card. Therefore the card has a random PIN that was assigned when the card was ordered.
